It’s a Knockout: here’s the set

Swimming pools, conveyor belts, bungee jumps, and more. Check out the Kuala Lumpur set for TEN's revival of It's a Knockout.

And here is your first glimpse of the set of TEN’s revival of It’s a Knockout, which has been filming this week in Kuala Lumpur.

The set features a circus-like obstacle course of swimming pools, conveyor belts, bungee jumps, challenge walls and more. TEN and McDonald’s banners hang from the stadium.

The set is the same as that which has been used for The Biggest Gameshow in the World: Asia with teams from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam (see clips).

For the TEN series, Aussie teams will compete in the crazy battles, hosted by H.G. Nelson and there has been a concerted effort to have expats fill the front rows of the stadium.

It will air over summer.

  1. I have a feeling that this won’t last more then 1 season…..because everyone thought the American version of wipeout was the “bomb”, so an Aussie one was made and barely anyone watched. So its not looking hopeful

  2. It will probably have the same effect Wipeout had, everyone loved it for the first season, then occasionally watch it, then avoid it like the plague, all these shows are fun for a bit, but become very stale and repetetive quite quickly.

  3. Well at least the audience won’t want to get up and leave half way thru a 8 hour record they wouldn’t want to miss out on a free bowl of rice now would they…

Wow Alan Joyce must be giving 10 some tips on how to globalize the work force, sounds like we won’t be the lucky country for much longer if this keeps up…
Yabba Dabba Do !!! stone age renaissance here we come !!!

Oh yeah great preveiws David, it’s like a progress report to the satelite management team, production values are such a Knock Out !!!

  4. How many white expats are there in Malaysia to make it look like it is being filmed in Australia?

And are they filming Young Talent Time in KL as well?

Murdoch and Reinhart are simply pathetic!

  5. The bottom line – Use premade set in developing country. Use cheap local crew. Fly in contestants who work for nothing. Stuff some expats in the front row. Get Australian content quota points. Perhaps Ten should move its entire Ultimo office to Kuala Lumper. An ugly precedent for Australian jobs. Makes Qantas look positively Australian.

  6. The local version of Wipeout failed, the local version of that Japanese show ( I can’t recall the name) failed. I’ve no doubt this won’t fare any better.

  7. While I’m really excited about this, I’m afraid I’m going to be really disappointed, can it really live up to the original, minus the cringe-worthy hosts?
