Renewed: The Beach Crew

KidsCo has renewed its Aussie animation with environmental themes, beach safety and sun safe messages.

International children’s channel KidsCo has renewed its Australian animated series The Beach Crew for a second season.

The series, which follows the adventures of Billy Boogie, Sammy Surfboard and Mini Malibu protecting their beach from villains like Cash Coin and Slimy Seaweed will be made up of 26 x 11 minute episodes.

With its environmental themes and promoting beach safety and the sun safe messages, the next season will add a new baddy, CC Junior.

Produced by Victorian-based production company, The Beach Crew Productions, the series will also screen globally on KidsCo.

Paul Robinson, Global CEO at KidsCo, said: “We are excited to be launching a second series of The Beach Crew next year with The Beach Crew Productions. It is our aim to further our investment in Australian production, as we understand the importance of local content to platforms such as Foxtel and Austar. With a focus on beach culture and active lifestyle, the series is both reflective of the Australian way of life and also adheres to KidsCo’s brand values of providing entertaining and educational content emphasising issues such as saving the environment and healthy eating.”

KidsCo has also commissioned its first ever long-form HD series, Sinbad in Space.

Consisting of 26 x 11 minute episodes focusing on environmental issues affecting the planetary systems in the year 2,940, it will premiere in the second half of 2012.
