The Block “Winner Announced” tops 2011
Updated: OzTAM has released the top 20 rated titles for 2011 and anything with the words "Winner Announced" did pretty well.

OzTAM has released the top 20 rated titles for 2011, even though the last day of the ratings year is today.
At #1 is The Block: The Winner Announced, which pulled an impressive 3.3 viewers for the moment Polly and Waz were declared winners.
The segment ran for just over 7 Minutes.
Winner moments on Australia’s Got Talent and MasterChef were also big drawcards.
The results reflect the way programmes were coded, sometimes as single episodes (i.e. Underbelly: Razor Ep 1) and sometimes as a series (i.e. Downton Abbey)
The figures are for survey weeks only, meaning the Royal Wedding, is out -it accrued some 6 million viewers across 4 networks. 7TWO’s 519,000 for the Royal Wedding also misses out in the multichannel list because it fell during Easter non-ratings.
Sport dominates the Pay TV listings with the Rugby World Cup semi final between Australia and NZ breaking the record books with a huge 734,000 viewers.

That a complete rubbish show about renovating wins the ratings for 2011, just goes to shows the continued drift to online entertainment is continuing. The next 10 years will be the end of commercial free-to-air it will die a deserved death as peeps will move 100% online, goodbye 7,9,and 10, your reign was brief :OP
Whatever happened to those sisters from The Block?
Did they get any money??
Top rated program in each capital except Adelaide is.. sport.
Top rated program on multichannels is.. sport.
Entire pay TV list is.. sport.
Would be quite big if both half of the countries liked the same sport.
Yeah, those 7 minutes of programming were very popular. :p
David looks fine on the ipad / Safari
New format much better
I am confused…some people saying the ratings view is a mess….the new setup has always looked fine to me….?!?!?…..I have PC tower…large monitor….IE…Windows XP….wonder why some are clear and some are a mess.?
The top two shows of the year were 7 and 10 minutes long respectively.
Time for Oztam to abolish this practice because it is making the ratings a complete farce.
The only positive is that the top rating show was just 7 minutes of crap.
‘Ratings’ are a farce…
Are the Neighbours figures averaged out over the year, because I’m pretty sure it got over 400,000 a few times?
just noticed, the Digital figures is for 25-54 only, is that a mistake?
Multichannel figures for 25-54 were correct but now replaced with Total People.
@ Bruce, there was no other AFL match on free to air that night so anyone wanting an AFL fix tuned in, myself included and it ended up being a cracking match too.
I echo what everyone else says when I say I like the new format, except we can’t see most of it behind the ads. Love the added duration part.
Hasnt Neighbours gotten 330k on occasion? why are the Digital figures so low?
The highest rating AFL game on STV was Brisbane vs Gold Coast?! Well I never…
Hi David like the look of the new format but it was a jumbled mess across the screen – am using Firefox Vers 8,went back to old style with no probs when i hit the link .
Will let you know how it looks on Safari when i fire up the ipad later on.
Can’t see any info in the new style on the mobile site- on iPhone. Much prefer old
This is why the ratings system is flawed and nothing can be taken out of these figures. 7 minutes long just for them to say ‘the winner is’…. and it gets #1 with 3.3m. That’s ridiculous. OZtam needs to sort this out now.
And Underbelly gets single episodes listed, but Downton Abbey is averaged. This needs to be addressed too. It’s either one or the other.
Basically OZtam is useless
As you said – the ratings year isn’t over until tomorrow.
What if something tonight goes *vroom* and accrues 5million viewers!?
It could happen. 😉
Congrats 9! You won something!
What needs to be done about ridiculous ratings and coding of part-programmes is this: The ratings need to be hard coded into starting exactly on the hour and half hour with no exceptions. Force the networks to code a show for 30/60/90/120 minutes.
The most watched show this year lasted seven seconds? Given that one of the main the points of oztam is for advertising rates, I wonder how many ads Nine to screen in those seven seconds.
At least Nine has something positive to write about this year.
And the Block- The Winner Announced ran over 7 minutes, not 7 seconds.
I can’t see any of the figures behind your ads, David.
It happens on both IE and Firefox.
Hey David. Pretty sure that means it ran for 7 minutes not 7 seconds.
The impressive ones for me are when they are coded as full episodes… like Underbelly and Downton Abbey.
