It’s official.
The Ab Fab movie is going ahead.
Jennifer Saunders has revealed the forthcoming Absolutely Fabulous movie will be set on the French Riviera.
Speaking to New York Magazine, Saunders confirmed, “Yes, I’m definitely going to do it,” she said. “I’m aiming to shoot this in a beautiful part of the Riviera. I fancy the south of France in the spring.”
Can’t wait for the guest stars that will roll up for this one. How can we get Kath & Kim a cameo?
It’s good news on top of the three specials we’re getting with the Patsy & Edina.
The first already aired in the UK at Christmas and the second is due there on Sunday.
ABC is yet to confirm the Australian broadcast dates.
When asked why she revisited the series, Saunders blamed it all on Joanna Lumley.
“It was mainly because she announced it that we did it. She said, ‘Darling, I told them in New York that you’re going to do a few more.’ I said, ‘Oh, well, got to tell the BBC.'”

@ Tony Bee …Have to agree with nicholasg…as Jennifer Saunders stated this herself on the Graham Norton show recently…that is was not a series but a number of ‘specials’ and she also discussed the possibility of a movie….at which point the audience erupted and cheered.

According to the dictionary, a “series” is “a group or a number of related or similar things”. Three special eps is a series!
It’s not a New series. People, get that right. It’s only two Christmas/New year specials and an Olympics episode.
As long as they get all the J’s in there somehow.
The new series is as funny as ever.
let’s hope the storyline is fresh anot a rehash of the past 6 seasons. thhe script ,will no doubt b as sharp as ever. genuinely looking forward to this.
