  1. It’s full of lowly programming, such as obnoxious advertorials which are repeated ad nauseum, interspersed with only a couple of hours of decent programming. And even more extended coverage of Pshychic TV. Though it is good to see more channels on freeview, I think this one is a waste of space, but each to their own I suppose.

  2. It’s appearing in the guide but I can’t get picture or sound, it just comes up with this little box saying ‘HD Service’, My TV is full hd though so I’m not sure what’s going on.
My tv is an LG LCD Full HD, just over 2 years old. I’m assuming it doesn’t have the codecs to play MPEG-4/H.264.
So stupid that in this day and age you can’t even update the codecs on your tv.
I wonder if that means I’ll be able to view it if I run my antenna to my pc and watch through windows media center.

  3. I to be honest and sick of Shopping channels that’s all there is 99 and 90 in the early morning shopping, shopping, shopping!!!!

I would prefer some cool shows or even all day free movie channel. I think this is a waste of a channel personally free to air tv is supposed to be channels that people will watch and i am sick of every channel i turn to already has shopping on it ahh bra and blah blah blah….

  4. I think this is one of the best stations on offer, always something new and interesting to see. I do most of my shopping from it regularly without even leaving my loungeroom so it is not only convenient but hassle free as well. I would actually like more stations to have this sort of content, if not all of them, it would be a massive improvement to what they have on now…

Besides with one big commercial we no longer have to sit through those annoying little commercials and also now we get entertained at the same time.

  5. Seriously?
To all those whinging below (and possibly above). I found this blog while searching what TV4ME was all about as my TV just had it available when I came home this afternoon (any decent set today will self discover – Thanks Kogan).
If you don’t like the channel set it up to skip.

I’ll at least give it a chance and check back now and then to see if the programming changes and decide what to do later.

There are too many people in ths world that bitch about things and jump to conclusions.

  6. To everybody having trouble getting TV4ME, or getting either video-only or audio-only, you should know this:

    – TV4ME is broadcast in MPEG-4/H.264 video and AAC audio.
    – This is different to all the other Freeview channels, which broadcast in MPEG-2 video and either MPEG Layer 2 (MP2) or Dolby Digital (AC3) audio.
    – This means that you’ll only be able to see and hear TV4ME if your digital TV, set-top box or computer TV tuner card can decode both MPEG-4/H.264 and AAC.
    – If you’re getting video and no audio, or vice versa, it means that your equipment can only decode one and not the other.

    If your equipment:
    – was able to play last year’s 3D TV trial channel,
    – is very new, or
    – has a Freeview logo on it,
there’s a good chance it will play TV4ME. There’s no guarantee as to what equipment will work with TV4ME, so I suggest you just try a channel re-scan, and see what happens

If your equipment can’t play TV4ME, don’t worry. You are not missing anything at all, believe me.

  7. @Tasmanian Devil – Then I must be stupid. It’s endless infomercials – mops, bras, ladders, grillers, 1900 phone-a-psychic, etc., etc. I check back from time to time but it’s still endless advertising. Those who have a blank screen…lucky you….it’s better than seeing what they are broadcasting. It’s sub-VHS quality.

  8. This channel is totally useless if it cannot be seen on most tv’s. Even c31 is broadcasting with less and is more entertaining than a blank screen. Seven Network – get it right before you launch a channel in a mode that is not supported by the majority of tv’s sold. Is this a subtle way to get us to ditch the new flat screen for something new? My guess is that seven is trying to emulate foxtel but have failed because they do not control the receiver like foxtel!!

  9. I agree with Daniel – the channel has its merits. Though I am in Tasmania and have not seen it, I imagine there is some worthwhile content available. You’re being stupid if you say TV4 is constant 24/7 informercials.

I do hope Southern Cross Tas picks up the channel. I can’t imagine there would be as much of a push as there were for the other channels though 🙂

  10. Is there actually anyone in Australia that would sit and watch the same informercials that they have played repeatedly for the past 5 yrs on every other channel. I Hate them. After 2am all that is available to watch is rubbish. Try more programming instead of adding a new channel.

  11. This is by far the best station.
I look forward to Katy Perry informing me about how much better I will feel on proactive. If only I could also be informed about having a door and how this could become a gym!

  12. What is this new station suppose to be about? I thought the whole idea of free to air tv is that stations put on content that everyone will watch. To me it sounds as this new station will not work. Please put on decent programs or no one will watch.
