They will screen Live from Hollywood on Starpics at 12 noon on Friday.
Next Monday of course it’s the Golden Globes live on FOX 8 with the Red Carpet from 11am.
TV1 has the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Monday January 30 from 11am.
And our very own AACTAs will be seen on Nine on Tuesday January 31st.
And then the big one in February….
StarPics brings you all the star-studded glamour and excitement from the first major awards show of the season, the 17th Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, broadcast in HD on StarPics this Friday, 13 January, 2012 at 12.00pm (AEDST).
Live from the Hollywood Palladium and hosted by actor / comedians Rob Huebel (The Descendants, Life as We Know It) and Paul Scheer (30 Rock) the Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards honour the finest in cinematic achievement, representing more than 250 television, radio and online critics from the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
Leading this year’s nominations are Hugo, directed by Martin Scorsese and The Artist, each receiving 11 nominations, just falling short of the record 12 nominations for 2010’s Black Swan. Along with Scorsese’s impressive nominations he will also be honoured with the Critics’ Choice Music+Film Award at this year’s ceremony. Other hot contenders are The Help and Drive, each earning eight nominations, as well as The Descendants and War Horse both receiving seven nominations.
Historically, The Annual Critics’ Choice Movie Awards are considered to be an accurate predictor of Academy Award® nominations. Last year all four of the acting category winners at the Academy Awards® – Colin Firth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and Melissa Leo first accepted their awards in the same categories at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
