Report: Craig Reucassel panel show for Seven

Rumours of a panel show hosted by The Chaser's Craig Reucassel for Channel Seven resurface.

The Daily Telegraph claims The Chaser‘s Craig Reucassel is hosting a panel-style show for the Seven Network.

The Unbelievable Truth is based on a 2006 UK radio show devised by Graeme Garden and Jon Naismith. The object of the game is to lie on a subject, whilst also trying to include the truth without being detected.

Filming reportedly began on Thursday at Seven’s studios in Redfern with guests including Andrew Hansen and Julian Morrow.

Last April The Chaser boys took part in a pilot filmed for Seven under the watch of Naismith and Garden.

  1. @Jerome Marriage Ref has flopped in both the US and the UK, any Aussie channel who airs a local version of the format is a fool.

*insert coming soon to TEN joke*

  2. I think variety needs to be forgotten for a few years. The strike rate it too low to bother with.

But I do still think The Marriage Ref is worth a shot.

  3. Reminds me of a panel show on HSV7 Melbourne, I think in the late 1950s, however I can’t think of the name of the show. It was compared by Mike Williamson and featured the sponser of the show, Kevin Dennis of Kevin Dennis Motors.

  4. Looking forward to this.

Channel 7 has a great record with panel shows…

  5. I was in the audience for filming on Thursday. If the editor adds some canned laughter and significantly tightens the pace, it will make for average television, at best. It’s a lazy show with a weak concept, and I can only assume the Channel 7 cheque book was wide open for the Chaser guys to agree to this. It’s a poor man’s Qi.

  6. Great news. Those guys are very clever.

As an aside, I understand Seven believe their new studios are in Everleigh, not Redfern. Erasing the memories of old? All the same thing 🙂
