Better Homes & Gardens: Feb 17

Dr Harry Cooper cruised to Antarctica last year on a journey he calls the “trip of a lifetime”.

If it’s good enough for Kochie, it’s good enough for Dr Harry Cooper who cruised to Antarctica last year on a journey he calls the “trip of a lifetime”.

His adventures can be seen on Better Homes and Gardens this week and next.

Highlights include watching him cope with the nauseating journey through the wild, rough seas of the Drake Passage; his encounters with penguins, seals and whales – plus the human residents who call Antarctica home for part of the year; his recipe discovery for Fast Ed (penguin casserole anybody?); and an avalanche happening right before his eyes.

And of course, there’s the educational element as he teaches us about the species of wildlife there and how the well-managed burgeoning tourism industry in Antarctica is having little to no effect on the wildlife colonies.

Friday, February 17 at 7.30pm on Seven (continued in the episode on February 24).
