Contestant faints on American Idol

A contestant in American Idol took a nasty fall this week.

16-year-old Symone Black fell off the stage after singing Otis Redding’s “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay.”

Idol is already attracting criticism for turning the moment of drama into a cliffhanger ending to an episode, rather than showing a recovery to viewers.

She enters the stage at 2:45min in this clip.
