Returning: NRL on FOX

A new-look NRL on FOX makes its 2012 return with co-hosts Matthew Johns and Warren Smith.

NRL on FOX makes its 2012 return tomorrow night in a radically re-vamped format, with co-hosts Matthew Johns and Warren Smith.

They will be joined by former NRL players Mark Geyer and Gorden Tallis on a brand new set. The four have left behind the show’s traditional set and instead will appear on the NRL on FOX lounge.

This year Ryan Phelan will be involved in rugby league coverage as the face of Super Saturday and will also be assuming a senior presenting role on FOX Sports News.

Johns, Smith and Geyer will be the regular faces on the 2012 version of the flagship FOX Sports magazine show, joining an array of NRL stars both past and present for a comprehensive look at the week in Rugby League.

With a greater emphasis on the issues challenging the code, NRL on FOX will this year introduce a new segment, ‘Contrary Conduct’, where the panel will be joined by The Daily Telegraph’s Paul Kent to debate the game’s most controversial topics.

In Wednesday night’s debut show the team will also preview an exciting opening round of matches in the Telstra Premiership, with a spotlight on Wayne Bennett’s first appointment as coach of the Newcastle Knights against his former club St.George-Illawarra.

Panthers General Manager Phil ‘Gus’ Gould will also feature on the show in an exclusive interview to share his vision for the future of Penrith and the challenges facing the game in the west.

7.30pm AEDT Live Wednesday 29th February FOX Sports 2 / 2HD.

  1. I cannot believe Matthew Johns and Mark Geyer are on NRL on Fox – I will never watch that show again. Obviously management think we have forgotten their previous on and off field behaviour. – What a shame.

  2. I will never watch NRL on Fox again while M Johns is on it.
As a mother to 3 daughters and also having 4 grand daughters I can’t stand looking at him.

  3. i stopped watching nrl on fox when they introduced sailor to the panel. the show was dumbed down to be almost childish with it all been about sailor.
im not sure it will be any more cerebral this year with johns on it though.
