Bumped: NRL on FOX

After just a handful of weeks on air this year, NRL on FOX will move to a new timeslot.

After just a handful of weeks on air this year, Rugby League show NRL on FOX will move to a new 8.30pm timeslot on Wednesday nights.

Joining co-hosts Matthew Johns and Warren Smith on this week’s show will be former Blues enforcer Mark Geyer and Storm captain Cameron Smith from 8.30pm AEDT tomorrow on FOX SPORTS 2HD & FOX SPORTS 2.

Dragons five-eighth Jamie Soward will join the panel to discuss his side’s mixed start to the season and this weekend’s eagerly-anticipated clash with defending Premiers Manly.

Also stopping by the new set will be last night’s victorious Sharks skipper Paul Gallen, while The Daily Telegraph’s Paul Kent will return for another round of ‘Contrary Conduct’ and Lara Pitt will provide all the latest breaking team news and NRL gossip.

This week’s edition will also feature an exclusive interview with ARL Commission CEO, David Gallop, who will discuss a range of hot issues including expansion, the salary cap and the highly-debated player contracting system.

8.30pm AEDT Wednesday 21 March FOX Sports 2 / 2HD.

  1. Yeh i agree the new MNF format is stupid.
They want you to use the websites to see extra footage they use to show on MNF post game.

Maybe they want the shows to fail so they can get a cheaper deal for the next rights 😉

  2. I’m quite surprised by this, NRL on Fox has always been its flagship show and by putting Warren Smith back in, I think it is the best it has ever been – opinionated, newsworthy and honest. Matty hasn’t even taken over.

David, do you know why they’ve done this? Is it a sign of something wrong or just simply Daylight Savings or something like that? It probably doesn’t help that they repeat the show 1000 times over the following 24 hours (more than any other show i’ve seen in a long time).

I think its a great show and the way that its programmed is fantastic for those of us who love footy – and NRL Teams etc were great shows so I don’t understand why we have to endure constant shuffling when the AFL aren’t.

@MJL – I agree completely about the MNL – I miss some of the spark that they had last year.

  3. Very strange that. If you look at the ratings those shows on Fox Footy don’t rate very highly either. EMT has been a flop.
Fox Sports have axed NRL Tactics and The League Lounge in the last few years and now have also shortened and ruined the MNF post game show.

  4. Still find it weird that the NRL is so huge on PPV yet Foxsports only have one NRL show during the week.
While FoxFooty shows like On The Couch EMT & others screen on FoxSports during the week.
