Jimmy Kimmel to host 2012 Emmys

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel will host the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards for ABC.

Surely it can’t be that time again already?

It isn’t. But late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has been announced as the host of the 2012 Emmy Awards, to air in the US on September 23rd.

“I hope to be able to do for the Emmys this year what Eddie Murphy did for the Oscars,” he joked.

Kimmel’s hosting for ABC follows on from Jane Lynch hosting the 63rd event for FOX last year.

The awards show again will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

  1. Its a pity Jimmy Kimmel Live is no longer shown over here – Foxtel had him on briefly, but then they dumped their late night shows, but kept Jimmy Fallon for some reason ?!

Will never forget the way he ripped Jay Leno a new one, over and over again when the Jay / Conan war was on. Might make the Emmy’s watchable … sort of like Ricky Gervais type funny.
