Next week SBS TWO will air a documentary Inside Japan’s Nuclear Meltdown, which is produced in the US, with both English and Japanese language.
An unprecedented account of the crisis inside the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex after a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck Japan on 11 March, 2011. With eye-witness accounts from key figures in the drama, including those workers struggling frantically to reconnect power inside the plant’s pitch-dark radioactive buildings; and the Prime Minister’s office fighting to get information as the crisis spiralled out of control. The story also profiles the Japanese soldiers and fire-fighters drafted to cool the reactors; and the families living near the nuclear plant, who unknowingly put themselves in the way of the radioactive plume.
9:30pm Thursday, 12 April SBS TWO.
