Foxtel viewers will be able to see every one of the five preliminary Basketball matches featuring Australian flag bearer Lauren Jackson and the Opals, live and in full.

Jackson, who has been given the honour of carrying the Australian flag at the Opening Ceremony, is widely considered to be Australia’s greatest female basketballer of all time. She has led the Opal’s to three consecutive Olympic silver medals, but on each occasion the US has been the stumbling block.

The Opals’ 2012 campaign starts off with a match against Great Britain on Sunday, July 29 at 7.05am AEST. The complete schedule:

AUS vs GBR: Sunday July 29 at 7.05am AEST, live on LONDON 4
AUS vs FRA: Monday July 30 at 11.20pm AEST, live on LONDON 3
AUS vs BRA: Wednesday August 1 at 11.20pm AEST, live on LONDON 3

  1. I managed to watch the highlights of the basketball match between Australia and GB. I watched in on the highlights packaged London Gold. So it must have aired at some stage in the morning. Thanx for the schedule David. Also if you could can you find out the schedule for the Boomers. During the highlights i noticed that the voice of australian basketball John Casey was calling alongside Racheal Sporn, is he part of Foxtel’s team or Nine’s?

    1. Any info on events is on the site, via Nine’s Telecast Schedule. More detailed info is added as it is received. I don’t plan on asking about each individual event sorry, I’ve tried to make the info as user-friendly as possible, otherwise it means I just don’t have it yet….

  3. Big fan of the basketball. David do you know if Channel 9 is showing the Opals vs Great Britain game at all. I can’t seem to find any information.
