@Guy,had to just add, you’ve mentioned all my favourites and agree with all you’ve said
I too agree with everyone. I am addicted to Downton Abbey.Along with Once and Revenge these are my 3 favourite shows right now. Its written so well and the acting is superb. I can’t wait for the finale next week and who knows S3 might be here sooner than we know if Seven fast-track it.
@A. @Moanique. Gotta agree,i really look forward to Downton as well. Its no surprise its doing good.
I had no idea the Voice concert was on, I did see it mentioned on here, but forgot about it… saw the last half hour or so, but it was pretty boring. The judges/mentors made the show.
Maybe The Voice was a one shot wonder or maybe Nine didn’t promote it enough? I haven’t watch much Nine of late as they don’t have much that interests me right now. I’ve been watching more or SBS and ABC lately than the other FTA channels.
@ Moanique
I agree with you about Downton. I’m loving it too.
I enjoyed The Voice concert. Its a pity you need all the competitive reality drama to get monster ratings. Downton Abbey is brilliant. Seven should repeat some of the Billy Connerly shows they had several years ago. The were also good and i am sure they would rate again.
Wow Channel Nine are really killing the goose that lay the golden egg with “Voice”concerts and the old tired American version. How desperate can a network get, big big mistake.
I absolutely love Downton Abbey. I even dreamt about it last night, I was one of the service staff downstairs lol
The Voice is already starting to wane? I seriously watched like 10 minutes then switched off. I wasn’t interested really. Good night all round for Seven. Downton did well and Billy Connolly is proving very popular. I wonder if Seven has any more of his series that they could show. I think its going to be a great week for Seven.
Can someone tell me which episode of Graham Norton was played last night?
It was the first half of a highlights edition, with part 2 this coming Sunday. As always click on show Tag for most recent info.
@Chris – Agree. Hopefully the Voice-cow has been milked dry.
And with The Voice U.S continuing tonight.. Nine’s woes will shall too continue
Once again ch9 relies upon ‘event’ tv for a ratings boost, where the other channels have a fairly stable and regular schedule. 9s approach is a failure of a credible strategy to rebuild its viewer base, they will boom one week and bust the next. This is not a great backdrop for advertisers to roll out a campaign. Still the big win for the year coming in about 10 days…
I think part of the problem with this is that for all the guides it was called ‘Reach Out’. So my PVR didn’t pick it up as related to the Voice, and I missed around 20 minutes at the beginning because of that.
Interesting point, but it would really affect the Timeshifted numbers more than Overnight.
I saw about 20 seconds of The Voice and they were performing some horrific Black Eyed Peas song that charted years ago, and is therefore insane for them to perform now. I actually thought it was the US version since the song was so old and the American version must be even worse than the Aussie one.
Hopefully they’re killed the franchise enough already that season 2 will be the last, and hopefully won’t even run to its conclusion.
