Women’s marathon: Jessica Trengove, Benita Willis and Lisa Weightman (final)
The women’s marathon gets underway first up, and we will have a full Australian contingent in Jessica Trengove, Benita Willis and Lisa Weightman. Trengove only ran her first marathon in Japan in March 2012 recording a time of 2:31.02. She celebrated her 21st birthday during the Beijing Games on 15 August 2008 and the theme for her party was the Olympics. She wore a Cathy Freeman suit!

Can Usain Bolt repeat his Beijing success at 100m and break the world record in the process? Earlier in the evening it’s the women’s 400m final which Cathy Freeman won in style 12 years ago in Sydney, the men’s 3000m steeplechase where Youcef Abdi will be hoping to improve on his sixth place in Beijing as well as gold medal action in the women’s triple jump and men’s hammer throw.

CYCLING: Track *GOLD MEDAL EVENT*

Women’s sprint: Anna Meares (qualifying)
Men’s sprint: Shane Perkins (quarterfinals)
Men’s omnium: Glenn O’Shea (rounds>final)
There’s only one gold medal to be won at the track cycling but it will require a superhuman effort to win it, as it is the climax of the men’s omnium which involves six events over two days. Reigning world champion Australia’s Glenn O’Shea will be attempting to be the first to claim Olympic glory in this event. Anna Meares will be looking to qualify for the women’s sprint

DIVING *GOLD MEDAL EVENT
Monday August 6 at 3.55am AEST – live on LONDON 1
Women’s 3m springboard: Sharleen Stratton, Jaele Patrick (final)
The women’s 3m springboard is decided where Australia’s Sharleen Stratton and Jaele Patrick will be doing well to deny a 1-2 finish to China’s Minxia Wu and Zi He.

BOXING
Monday August 6 at 1.10am AEST – LONDON 5
Women’s 75kg: Naomi Fischer-Rasmussen (round of 16)
Men’s 56kg: Ibrahim Balla (quarter final)
Men’s 91kg: Jai Opetaiaa (quarter final)
History will be made with the Olympic debut of women’s boxing, with Naomi Fischer-Rasmussen (75kg) donning the gloves for Australia.
