This is fun. ONE schedules a 6 night feast of Planet of the Apes films.

Tonight ONE begins a 6 night feast of Planet of the Apes films.
The first one tonight is an absolute classic, including Charlton Heston’s famous line “Take your stinkin’ paws off me you damned dirty ape!”
Some of the others are duds, but this is a fun programming idea…..
8:30pm ONE
Thursday: Planet of the Apes (1968)
Friday: Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)
Saturday: Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)
Sunday: Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)
Monday: Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)
Tuesday: Planet of the Apes (2001)

ONE’s share went up this week, thanks to Apes marathon.
I am very excited and can’t wait to watch Heston ( saved on my DVR, later on today: You damned dirty ape!!!!
I look forward to all the movies, not so much the latest, but I can only hope they don’t show the TV series or cartoon!!
Planet Of The Apes did very well on ONE against the Olympics getting 200K and in the top 10 digital shows. That’s why that channel should ditch all the sport and new age stuff, there should be more cult shows and movies such as this on ONE and leave all the new stuff for Eleven.
I advocate The Fly and all its sequels next, as well as a few old horrors, starting with Halloween and Friday The 13th. There’s just so many great movies out there that have been made throughout the years, I don’t understand why they always just play the same ones.
No doubt the original Planet Of The Apes is the best of the bunch and all the original movies are good but when we get to Tim Burton’s 2001 remake you’ll be shaking your head in disbelief at just how bad it is.
They should do the Star Trek movies next, they’ve played the latest movie, nearly a half dozen times on TEN and they played Insurrection and I’m pretty sure they played Nemesis as well on ONE.
And they are showing it (at least the first) in glorious HD with DD5.0 sound – thank you!!
Why have I not watched more than 30 minutes of Olympics action/ads?
One’s movies.
They should do this sort of thing regularly, like the Mob Week currently on AMC in the United States.
(Planet of the Apes remake was bad though.)
Huge fan of the series. Glad to see it on TV.
Then maybe they could play the Simpsons episode where Troy McClure is in the Planet of the Apes musical – “he can talk, he can talk, I Can Siiiinnnngg!”
