The Inbetweeners are getting a movie sequel.
Co-creator Damon Beesley has confirmed that there will be a sequel to the 2011 feature.
The big-screen adaptation became the UK’s highest-grossing British-made comedy of all time with a £45m haul ($68mAU). None too shabby.
Beesley and his co-writer and co-executive producer Iain Morris had previously said that talk of a follow-up was “premature” but now have been working on storylines.
“I don’t want to give too much away at this stage but we have been developing an idea for a sequel,” Beesley told the Sun. “We miss working with Simon, Joe, James and even Blake too much not to give it a go.”
Morris later added, via Twitter: “Yes, but it’s far from signed and like Damon said we want to make sure we have a good enough story to tell.”
