MTV EMAs 2012: nominees

Rihanna and Taylor Swift top the nominations for the MTV EMAs, to be held in November.

Rihanna and Taylor Swift top the nominations for the MTV EMAs with six and five nods each respectively.

Justin Bieber and Katy Perry each scored four nods, while Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Lana Del Rey and newcomers Carly Rae Jepsen and fun. earned three nominations each.

360, Gin Wigmore, Gotye, Kimbra and Temper Trap are in the running to represent Australia and New Zealand in the Worldwide Act Award.

The MTV EMAs will take place on Monday, November 12 in Frankfurt with votes now open at www.mtvema.com .

  1. Madonna has the most successful tour of the year in Europe and she’s not nominated for “Best Live Act”? Something wrong there. Also, how does No Doubt score a pop nomination ahead of Madonna when they released just one single this year, which barely scraped into the Top 40 in just four European countries? Commercial success isn’t everything, of course, but we’re talking about the MTV Awards, not the Grammys.
