ABC24 and Channel 9 are leading the pack. Kudos to 9 with Kevin Rudd as special guest
Exceptional coverage on ABCNews24. Even better than CNN and NBC. Great job guys
All the matters is the result in half a dozen states.
How many hours of nonsense will they churn out to convey less than a byte of actual information?
@Daniel
Ten not showing any election coverage is part of their policy to provide something different for those who are not interested in the US election.
Yes, strange to read Chris Reason live from Melbourne, is there something special happening?
Hi David,
Fox News (Channel 604 on Foxtel) are also covering the election. Their election coverage is scheduled for 10am-6pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time. I intend on having that as my main viewing while flicking through the free to air channels on another TV set.
It is nice to see so much choice on Australian TV for this election. It is funny though that 7mate will still be screening an hours-old episode of NBC Today when their live coverage starts on 7two. I’m not a fan of NBC News, but I hope Seven use NBC some of the time because Chris Reason chatting with Mike Amor and staring at maps and numbers for hours could be quite tedious.
David, do you know roughly when (what time) we will know who is the winner? I vaguely remember it being around 4pm last time
C: Nope. It was mid-arvo last time and that’s where most of the broadcasts have congregated.
Might watch sky news covreage and flick between that and 7 two.
Bogues
ABC Australia is producing their own coverage, not taking PBS.
Dan, Sky News Australia is taking American ABC.
I have updated additional channels, thanks.
Phew home and away the early years is still on i am interested in the election so I will probably watch sky news
I think Seven’s use of 7Two for longer election coverage is a great move … but “Chris Reason live from Melbourne” seems strange, why not just let the American hosts lead the coverage.
CNN’s 28hr coverage seems overkill
Any idea which US networks the FTA networks are affiliated with? I know that ABC is taking PBS, but not sure about the others.
I like seeing the wrap up later in the week, after some news organizations make early predictions that turn out wrong.
It’s a mistake by Ten not to show anything. Charlie Pickering is in the US for The Project and should have done a Project special during the arvo.
Also.. the Comedy Channel are playing The Daily Show and The Colbert Report live from 3pm.
This is more coverage than our coverage of our federal election would ever get, any way who cares about a country that will soon be out of the top four economies in the world.
I think Comedy Channel has a Daily Show / Colbert coverage on in the afternoon. Don’t know if it’s live or a slight delay or what.
Al Jazeera too (651 on Foxtel).
It’s days like this (and cricket days) where I wish Go or GEM would air The View. They do it with Ellen, so hopefully they catch on with The View ASAP 🙂
