2012-10-19_0054So the US Election race is over, but Planet America is not.

This year Chas Licciardello and John Barron will look at American culture and politics on Friday nights on ABC News 24, but it begins with a special on the US Inauguration next Tuesday.

Chas Licciardello and John Barron give a wrap of the day’s events in Washington where President Barack Obama will be inaugurated for his second term as the U.S. President. The Presidential Inauguration special will also feature a panel of local and international guests.

The Planet America series returns with a prime-time slot on Fridays at 7.30pm. The next episode will air on Friday, 1 February at 7.30pm.

This year, Chas and John are setting out to discover the real America! With the next four years of presidency decided, what are the challenges the U.S. still faces, and can Barack Obama bring the nation together?

This half-hour programme gives you a wry and insightful weekly take on America’s culture and politics.

The programme will be repeated on Saturdays at 9.30pm and Sunday at 5.30pm on ABC News 24.

Planet America: The Presidential Inauguration Special will replace The Drum on Tuesday, 22 January at 6pm.

Planet America returns Friday, 1 February at 7.30pm on ABC News 24.

  1. Did you even watch it last year PJs Ronin? It’s a totally different beast to pretty much everything else Chas Licciardello has appeared in so judging just by the fact that he’s a presenter is pretty short sighted, IMHO. Personally, I think ‘wry and insightful’ is a fairly apt description of this show based on last year’s run.

  2. Sorry, anything with Licciardello in it does not strike me as being ‘insightful’. Nonetheless, I’m sure Planet America will be as entertaining as The Drum and will be repeated to the same level.
