MKR overcooking with Sunday episodes
My Kitchen Rules takes on The Voice -but it's high time to wind things up.

My Kitchen Rules will screen a Sunday night episode next weekend, going head to head with the premiere of The Voice.
News Limited reports Seven has filmed ‘secret’ episodes with eliminated contestants, giving one team a chance to return to the Finals.
There’s a lot of confusing messages surrounding MKR lately. Firstly, I don’t really get how Seven can promote this week as Finals week when only one team is eliminated. That’s not even semi-finals. Secondly, the entire series was filmed before episode one even aired (Pete and Manu told me that in January).
Last year the show also added later Sunday episodes, so I suspect this has been part of the plan all along.
The show really feels like it is dragging on too long now. It’s a bit like those Australia’s Got Talent finals that went on forever. They really should be eliminating a team ever night by now, not bringing some back.
I get that this is Seven’s key arsenal against The Voice but I reckon it’s a no-brainer.
The Voice will romp it in.

Weirdly the first team to release a cookbook after the show is my all time MKR faves Daniela and Stefania..
Im sure last year they did more stuff in different locations so dunno why thats changed.
mmm isnt this gonna be fun MKR, Voice, Revenge, House Housbands and still have Parenthood, Can of Worms and a couple of Elementaries on the PVR to watch
The Voice will probably have a similar effect to Masterchef’s second season – it will be bigger. Most people who watched last year will return and it will probably pick up curious viewers who didn’t watch last year.
MKR is simply overkill. Seven really should have used those massive MKR lead ins to launch some new shows. However, they’ve opted to start the year with familiar brands and soon they’ll be launching new shows up against a Voice-boosted Nine lineup which don’t really stand a chance.
I’m still enjoying MKR but agree the show is better when they are in the contestants kitchens or go on location somewhere. Kitchen HQ is a bit boring
“giving on team a chance ”
giving one ? team a chance ?
Whatever happened to “my” kitchen? It’s morphed into a clone of Master Chef, and with no regular eliminations, has become quite boring.
I reckon The Voice will flop this year. It was so big last year and the bigger they are the harder that fall.
I reckon on the whole it will be bigger.
I would be watching both 🙂
Poor old biggest looser has no hope against 7 and 9 channel 7 is the Woolworth’s of tv stations meaning they want to kill off all competition I will be watching biggest loser but I think I will be the only one
I refuse to go near The Voice and MKR has really jumped the shark this season.
Interesting reading the pro-MKR comments versus the anti-MKR comments. Publicists from all networks working overtime???
I’ll be watching MKR I’ve lost interest in the voice
Mkr will win the ratings even against the Voice/The Biggest Loser, won’t be watching the voice as it be a disaster like last year and won’t be watching the biggest loser because it looks so weird this season, i’m not liking compared to last season.
Yeah 7 are milking for all its worth. How long has it been going for?
Seven will try whatever they can to stop The Voice/The Logies getting mega numbers laying a foundation for Nine’s new Lineup. Seven can call the episodes whatever they like as long as people keep watching.
Whoever has the must see Reality TV show will stagger it across the main evening slots and get the most viewers, especially the younger viewers.
The 2nd and 3rd most watched shows tend to get timeshifted. And the 4th through 17th shows just drop of most viewers radar.
Ten has bumped Elementary back to 9:30pm and are running an extended episode of TBL.
The the games commence.
As soon as they stopped being in their houses, I lost interest!
Bring back Come Dine With Me!
Completely lost interest and now that I am watching biggest loser and the voice is starting there is no reason to keep watching.
I agree it really feels like it’s going to drag on forever. Since kitchen hq i have started to have it on as background noise rather than being fully engaged with it. it got a bit boring once the bitching and back-stabbing finished. They really should have eliminated one couple every ep from when they were at kitchen hq. i was confused with the “finals week” promo too. Lets hope they mean it’s finals month and it doesn’t drag out til May or June.
I think The Voice will kill MKR and hope it does I can’t stand MKR. If seven drag it on to long people might give up on watching it next year.
Has anyone heard of Karisse Eden lately ?………. No, didn’t think so 🙂
So the plan is to use MKR against the blind auditions to be competitive and try and sneak a couple of weekly wins, then launch their new shows once the blind auditions have finished so they have a chance of finding an audience and make sure they don’t suffer the same fate as AGT did against The Voice last year.
I reckon it will be one of those situations where people watch one show and tape the other.
Apparently the sunday ones they cook in Colins kitchen as stated in the paper today in a chance to get back in.
Funny if Angela and Melina got back in. Love to see the nsw girls reactions.
The only shock here is the fact that Seven didn’t do this from the get-go.
news limited Reported it which means it is completely made up.
I agree. MKR is dragging. It feels like its never going to end.
agree loved mkr for the first month now lost all interest snooze fest.
