The Voice returns to Seven in early August hosted by Sonia Kruger.

Ethan Beckton is not your garden-variety singer. When the 18-year-old landscaper takes to The Voice stage, coaches Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy are in left in awe.

Rita was left “speechless” while Jason declared: “Now that is a perfect audition. I was looking for someone just like you.”

After blowing the coaches away in his Blind Audition, Ethan admitted: “I’ve never had an actual music lesson. I’ve just learnt it all online. Singing on The Voice stage is the opportunity of a lifetime.”

7.00pm Sunday, 6 August on Seven.

  1. They shouldn’t have launched it against The Block. The Kathleen Folbigg spotlight exclusive with Natalie Barr would have been a better counterprogrqmming option.

  2. So we could have two national voting campaigns for The Voice in October. One relating to a music contest, the other a referendum. Probably I’ll be the only one confused…

  3. Seven are saying this act is stopping the world. Wonder what they are basing this on.
    How many contestants each season do they say “I was looking for someone just like you.”
    Unless they give the contestants more weeks & stop the ridiculous culls the show will never have the ‘star’ they are looking for.
