Seven reveals Celebrity Splash cast

Josh Thomas, Nick Bracks, Laura Csortan & Andrew Symonds join Seven's diving show.

2013-03-20_012914 personalities have been revealed as the cast for Seven’s upcoming Celebrity Splash.

The Daily Telegraph reveals them as: “socialite Brynne Edelsten, former cricketer Andrew Symonds, track diva Tamsyn Lewis, comic Josh Thomas, retired swimmer Leisel Jones, big-wave surfer Koby Abberton, soap starlet Demi Harman, TV veteran Denise Drysdale, Melbourne radio host Adam Richard, AFL identity Andrew Welsh, TV presenter Laura Csortan, pageant queen Renae Ayris, actor Paul Fenech and male model Nick Bracks.”

Executive producer Steve Murray defended the lack of A-List stars who were reluctant to appear:

“There’s their image. Then there’s their body image, not to mention the fear factor … if it goes wrong the reality is it’s extremely dangerous. It’s asking a lot of our talent,” he said.

Diver Matthew Mitcham is also tipped to be a show judge.

A host is yet to be announced, with Jules Lund’s name on the rumour list.

The UK series attracted negative reviews but good ratings and has been renewed for a second season. The US version launches today.

  1. i also can’t see this lasting long. If it was a once-off-special, i can give it a go, but a whole season? Not sure at this stage.

Good to see Paul Fenech and Denise Drysdael there.

  2. “Hoping the dog is also mandatory for Brynne’s dive now that it’s in the photo.”

Hahahahaha!! Thanks David, I really needed a laugh today!!

I love Adam Richard and Josh Thomas. I just don’t know how this will go though – a dive is a split second thing – it’s not like a dance or a song that goes for three minutes – what do they fill the airtime with?

  3. Will probably rate as well as the other rubbish show Josh Thomas is in.

I really thought seven had more class than to put this tripe to air. Clearly I was wrong.

  4. Yet more crap filling the airwaves. 7pm to 8.30pm on the main channels is dead to me. Would rather poke my eyes out with a rusty spork than watch this rubbish.

  5. Average cast if you ask me. If it was on TEN we would all be asking what the hell are they thinking. Has (belly) flop written all over it. With it being on Seven….it will probably rate OK.

  6. OMG what will they think of next… well Seven didn’t think of it, just copied (bought the rights) the the UK version. Seriously when will this reality end?

Just like the singing/cooking and countless others I will not be watching this one!

  7. I see that, aside from male model Nick Bracks, the men in that photo are wearing more clothes than the women. I wonder why that might be…

And I wonder if the women contestants will be diving in their heels. They look somewhat impractical!

    🙂

  8. Although I havent heard of many of these people, there’s more talent there than I thought they would be able to source.
Ding-Dong will have trouble climbing the ladder to the diving board, god knows how she’s going to dive.

  9. So this show belly flopped in the UK and with that line of celebrities… and a socialite with 1 braincell, the OZ version looks like its going to being flop to.

  10. Yeah don’t think I will be bothering with this one. If it’s after Easter, I already have a full plate with Celebrity Apprentice & Australian Bake Off, not to mention the many dramas that will be starting up then. But I said the same thing when DWTS started up, and found myself watching it. But I will try to be strong and not succumb.

  11. I dont think this would work in Australia on any day in any timeslot, but it will be soundly thrashed if its up against the voice after easter.
