This week The Footy Show (AFL) airs on Wednesday night with a panel including Geelong captain Joel Selwood, Collingwood’s Luke Ball and Shane Crawford.
Arj Barker also appears.
The AFL’s opening round finally hits Victoria this long weekend and we preview the seven remaining matches, including the massive Blues versus Tigers traditional opener and the Easter Monday clash between the Hawks and the Cats. Plus, we reveal the panel’s tips – and this year there’s more riding on them than ever.
Billy Brownless continues his quest to honour each past Footy Show panellist with a baggy blue. This week Bill tracks down a Footy Show favourite: the one and only Bombers coach, James Hird. We re-live some of Hirdy’s most memorable and not-so-memorable moments on the show.
Sam takes Street Talk to Springvale, Tigers coach Damien Hardwick’s old stomping ground, where discussion of Richmond’s certain finals berth becomes all too confronting for some.
As we enter Comedy Festival season, US comedian Arj Barker drops by to give an outsider’s take on the AFL and perhaps take aim at The Footy Show hosts. Ahead of his special appearance in the Stawell Gift, Jamaican Olympian Asafa Powell joins us in the studio.
Award-winning journalist Damian Barrett brings all the latest footy news, Sam opens his Mailbag, current AFL players pay tribute to Bruce Springsteen, we delve into some of Sam’s fashion faux pas, and feature some of the funniest moments from the past 20 years of Almost Footy Legends.
Join Garry Lyon, James Brayshaw and Sam Newman for a Wednesday night edition of The Footy Show –at the new time of 8.30pm on Channel Nine.
Check local guides.
