Sunday Night on hiatus?

It's looking like Sunday Night has been sacrificed to make way for Seven's programming plans.

2012-12-06_1106It’s beginning to look a lot like Sunday Night has again been sacrificed to make way for Seven’s programming plans to combat Nine.

From this weekend, My Kitchen Rules joins Sundays, beginning with a whopping 2 hour episode to choose an eliminated team to re-enter the competition.

That’s a lot of non-grand final cooking.

There are also rumours Celebrity Splash will then take up the timeslot.

The show frequently has to make way for Dancing with the Stars, which also returns later this year.

It’s not yet clear whether Nine intends to keep The Voice at 6:30 Sundays after its launch this week, because it strikes me as the ideal slot for The Great Australian Bakeoff.

Sunday Night producers always use the time off to go and gather up new stories for their return.

  1. Can’t think of a better timeslot for Celebrity Splash than 6.30 Sundays, just as Its A Knockout was perfect for that timeslot. Hope they keep it really light, fun and fast with some comedians commentating. No-one is going to take this show seriously so the producers shouldnt either.

Does anyone want to bake a cake on a Sunday night though? I would have thought Bakeofff would be perfect for 5pm Sundays for a strong lead-in for the news?

  2. MKR has gone from “must-watch” to can’t watch”. Now they’re recycling an eliminated team? It’s now just a bad version of Master Chef.

  3. So over MKR. Its just feels like its dragging. Plus all the drama drama drama just makes you lose interest.

Still wonder who will host DWTS as Daniel McPherson qualified for the triathlon series over the weekend just gone.
