  1. dylan2012, I have been to the Blind auditions both last year and this year and can assure you there are no screens, just a concrete floor, and as you can see on TV no judge has an earpiece. I sense that you have made that up.

  2. sadly, it looks like Ten’s Super Sunday isn’t as super anymore since The Voice started. Apart from Elementary, the rest need to be imroved.

As for ABC’s morning schedule, it’s good to see both Insiders and Offsiderds doing good numbers.

  3. @ilovetv the reason they dont show bad singers on the voice is not because they edit them out but because they only let the good singers through to see the judges. There’s an audition process beforehand. It’s one thing that sets the voice apart from other talent shows. They don’t let bad people through just so that people Will laugh at them and get them ratings cause they don’t need to. It’s unique in that way… As is the blind auditons and not actually getting to see the person. Otherwise what would be the point. It would just be the same as idol or x factor. But its not, its better!

  4. According to my Nine Network source the blind auditions on The Voice are not blind. The judges are fed info before the singers start through the earpiece and they are able to watch the performance on screens on the floor below their seats.

  5. Thanks for the explanation on downton abbey david. I actually had to rewind the ending a few times to check that it was the end because it was quite abrupt and didn’t make sense. Looking forward to the conclusion next week.

Really enjoy watching offsiders on a sunday. Think they do a good job of analysing sport and thought they did a good dissection of the new developments of the Essendon drugs saga. How does offsiders rate on a sunday morning?

  6. Most double episodes are distributed as single episodes for international distribution and syndication.

Seven could have shown them together or asked for the original double episode version if they wanted. They were happy with the single episodes to use as a lead in for Mrs Biggs.

  7. It looks like TEN’s strategy is still questionable. They need to learn from what happend 10 years ago when they had Idol and how that was a jugernaut and was unstoppable in the first two or three years, same with Big Brother. My point is that there is no point in wasting good programming or new eps on a jugernaught that will just kill you in that time slot. Surely they noticed what Nine and Seven were doing 10 years ago against Idol, maybe they could repeat it and save the good content for a time slot which it will suceed in. Ten need to bide their time.

  8. Ten is basically wasting new modern family putting it against the voice! No point wasting eps there esp when another show would pull those figures.

  9. Seriouslysquare. I don’t think they show bad singers on the voice. I watch auditions last year waiting for some of the bad singers but there wasn’t any (and the bad auditions is the only reason I watch talent shows).

I’m sticking with MKR. The Voice is(as stated above) unwatchable for me and other channels offerings are horrible (would watch Modern Family but its on half way through MKR and I hate watching half episodes of stuff)

  10. Amazingly after Modern Family for light entertainment I catch up other dramas from last week that I haven’t see! None of the Sunday offerings appeal at the moment.

  11. Seven numbers are out due to Showdown coverage in SA. With seven news running at half time (5.22 pm) and MKR not starting until after 7pm. David any idea of numbers for showdown in Adelaide.

  12. Since The Voice is on Nine, don’t you mean 2 billion viewers?

(tonight.com.au/2013/04/oops-nine-news-over-prices-thatcher-funeral.html for anyone that missed it)

  13. Thanks for that David, it ended in a really add spot but it is good to know that 7 weren’t responsible. I guess something as successful as DA the distributors will ring out for all its worth.

    1. I looked into this a week ago. Despite what some media are reporting, it was NBC distributors who split the finale for international markets, due to the length of the Xmas special. It’s not the first time it’s happened, but Seven didn’t do any editing.
