Wide World of Sports and Nine News reporter Tim Sheridan is the latest to depart the Nine Network, taking a redundancy.
Ken Sutcliffe told viewers yesterday that he had departed.
As the Sydney Morning Herald notes, Sheridan was coming up to 30 years at the network, having started in November 1983. During that time he has notched up 16 Wimbledons, 13 US Masters, US Open tennis, Olympics, Commonwealth Games, various World Cups, Formula One, swimming, the Tour De France, State of Origin and numerous cricket tours.
”It’s always been fun, sometimes chaotic, but never boring,” Sheridan said. ”I feel privileged and grateful to have so many wonderful memories of working with the best people.”

He was a great man on WWOS. I think this is a sign that the once-dominant Wide World of Sports is falling to pieces.
Ten could do worse than getting him to front the British and Irish Lions Tour coverage. He played high level rugby so he’s got credibility.
Considering that most sporting events he did were dumped by Nine in the last few years, it makes sense. Good reportrt and presenter, should be able to find a gig somewhere pretty easily. I’d imagine he’ll be snapped by Fox Sports or someone else quickly.
Did enjoy his work invovled when Nine had the Masters and Wimbledon/US Open etc.
Not sad to see him go. I am from Melbourne and he didnt really do much from me. He felt to Sydneyish to me.
And on yesterdays show they have as co-hosts- Emma Freedman looking like a deer in headlights absolutely awful and cringe worthy, and Grant Hackett who is and never will be any good in front of the camera he just has not got the technique. looks so stifle and struggles reading the auto cue…i.e obvious that he is
What will they do when Ken Sutcliffe goes!
I agree, sad to see him go! All the best to him!
That is a blow!! He is one of the best reporters (not just sport reporters) around. I wish him well.
