Nine’s social media team was forced to delete a photo from Channel Nine’s official Facebook page after a photo from a user let fly at bookmaker Tom Waterhouse.
A section of the site automatically links to photos tagged as Channel Nine which appear on other Facebook pages, including those that parody or criticise Nine.
In the offending photo, a user has written “I know what punters want. They want me to f*** o**.”
Other photos still visible highlight on-air errors by Nine News, liken Eddie McGuire to a canary (!), and show a Nine News car illegally parked in a disabled parking spot.
A source told TV Tonight Nine was monitoring the page for defamatory photos but has since pulled the offending Waterhouse pic.

Deedeedragons, duh. That’s the whole point. Is someone from the Third World with their non-existent Internet connection meant to tell us to get over Waterhouse? #JustSayin

Then using your logic then there should be no problem advertising tobacco either. Because only smokers should have problems with it. Wrong. Some people have children and don’t want them to be taught that it is normal to smoke or gamble or even drink to excess. They are real problems and using sport as a way to promote such destructive behaviour is a problem.
By the way I remember watching Wide World of Sports when I was a child in the 20th Century and they mentioned the odds at a racetrack quite a lot. That was fine then because there’s no way for most people to bet at that racetrack. But these days there’s a lot of ways to do so. And they’ve found that children know of them.
I actually find that moronic phrase “first world problems” more offensive than f**k off because it’s always someone from the first world saying it.
It’s funny what people get angry about these days. #FirstWorldProblems
Off is a swear word? Better stop using it then!
Couldn’t have said it more succint…I think someone at 9 knew what they were doing.Waterhouse annoys most people.
I’m not sure why you censored the word “o**” in that phrase. What’s o**ensive about that?
Yes, definitely more truth than defamation. Very funny stuff.
Oh I love it when the computer takes control. Who was offended, Nine? Nine should monitor the page for “defamatory” photos. Their insurance company would like that, however, this photo’s not “defamatory”. It’s just saying what 99% of Nine’s viewers really think of one of Nine’s well-oiled advertisers – who mustn’t be offended.
The memes not wrong
Nothing offensive about that photo….just a bit of slightly hurtful truth
Aside from what is happening with the horses and singo….
what exactly is wrong with Tom or any other betting agency advertising on TV or anywhere?
They Payfor your sport to be on FTA….I have no problem with seeing it….I don’t have a gambling problem….
if people in society have a problem, then they need to get help, and stop blaming other in society, and forcing society to adjust because of their problems….
Tom or any of these betting agency’s are not holding a gun to your head, forcing you to place a bet… people are doing it their selves…. if they have a problem, its their fault, not Tom, or anyone else.
people in society calling for them to be banned, because of their problem is idiotic.
Just like people who have a problem with alcohol…. I’m not making them drink, nor is CUB… its not my fault they do…. stop changing society because of your problems.
I’m surprised people haven’t called for roads to be ripped up, because of other people’s problems with drink driving
