  1. when will House Rules go to Seven Two where they already have a few British reno shows…I wish I could of had a bet as I predicted the dismal ratings.

Seven must be worried as Jo Griggs has been the go to host of a home improvement/renovation show since the Auction Squad days.

Seven, you can’t just chuck a show together ripping off other formats & expect it to succeed. You have been lucky with MKR (don’t know why) but Splash & House Rules are really going to affect your brand. Already seeing it with lower ratings for News & Today/Tonight.

Nine…good job in persisting. Love the new series of The Block. Just disappointed they could not have cast maybe an Asian couple instead of of the usual white Australian. MasterChef is the true master of casting for Aussie reality shows.

  2. Why is House Rules rating do dismally? I can probably see why Celebrity Splash tanked….but House Rules….This combined with the renovators proves there’s only room for one in the home renovation genre.

  3. I’m not surprised that Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals has stiffed.
As with so many other shows I’m never sure if it’s a repeat or a new episode that will be broadcast.
The result? This viewer and his family rarely watch it now.

  4. I thought Dirty Laundry Live was alright and should improve with more outings. My wife on the other hand kept saying surely you’re not this stupid! Apparently I am.

  5. Hi David, How did the revival of Dallas go? I assume the ratings wouldn’t have been stellar because those two episodes had already been screened. I think Nine showed the first five episodes, maybe six, before taking it off.

    Thanks

  6. Hope double mention isn’t a no-no here, but I said over in the Lounge that Dirty Laundry was pretty poor.
Very awkward, directionless and often simply not funny. Sophie Monk looked mortified.
I like the idea that SBS is skewing toward a younger audience, but they will need some better vehicles than this.

  7. Those at Nine must be having an excellent day today after those poor figures from seven. I never would have expected ‘Our Queen’ to rate as well as it did; may be I’ll catch up with it on iview.

I don’t know what Seven were thinking with celebrity splash but it has clearly thrown them for a loop.

  8. There were so few viewers watching Celebrity Splash and using Zeebox that I was able to pretty much hold my own running commentary in the app much to my amusement. Was also keeping score of the in app poll on who viewers wanted to win as mine was the first vote 15 mins before the end of the show. It totalled 10 votes by the end of the show. I can’t wait for Celebrity Splash 2014 so I can do it all again. Suddenly the ratings for this show don’t look so bad when compared to House Rules.

  9. Woohoo TEN finally beat one of the other commercial networks in the 8:30pm timeslot (it was 3rd but still beat Seven)! TEN must be chucking a party for them to finally start seeing a lift in ratings and increasing competition. Lets hope it doesn’t take too much longer for them to beat the commercials in more timeslots.
