Reality TV has always been about manipulation, and very occasionally one of the inmates manipulates the asylum.
That’s just what UK singer Natalie Holt did in the final of Britain’s Got Talent, when she burst through an operatic duo to throw eggs at judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams.
It was like vaudeville all over again.
“Natalie Holt (age 30) was part of the backing group for their performance, and as a result of her misguided actions the police were called,” a BGT representative said in a statement. “However, we have decided to take no further action at this stage.”
Holt said in a statement: “I want to apologise to (opera-singers) Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realised it was a silly thing to do.”
Now don’t go getting any ideas for The Voice grand final thanks….
