Not sure this one is really intended to be a ratings hitter, but nevertheless, ABC News 24 has scheduled a special Ask Bob Carr in partnership with the online democracy platform, OurSay.org.
ABC Political Journalist Latika Bourke will host with Minister Bob Carr being asked questions posted and voted by the public.
The broadcast will be streamed live at ABC News Online abc.net.au/news and simulcast on ABC NewsRadio, and Radio Australia.
OurSay CEO Eyal Halamish says this is a great opportunity for Australians to consider our place in the world and how we should be interacting with countries near and far.
“As we move into the Asian century, it’s a crucial time for the citizens to be part of the conversation on foreign policy,” he said.
ABC New 24’s Editor, Tony Hill said, “The questions to the Minister are from the public, so it’s a true democratic forum. This is also a great vehicle for online and broadcast interactivity and we’re keen to support this, so that people can have their say.”
Tuesday, August 6 at 9.30pm ABC News 24.

I’d like to ask him about Vendor Duty, a poorly conceived tax introduced by Carr’s NSW government, that was abolished after just one year because of its disastrous effects on property investment in the state.
I hear News24’s ratings do much better during the daytime rather than primetime. But at least Latika Bourke will be providing the eye candy.
I’d like to ask Bob Carr about Eddie Obeid!
