Matt Lucas & Rove to guest host This Week Live

I'm in two minds about this one...

In only their third week This Week Live will have two guest hosts in Matt Lucas and Rove McManus.

The show is still finding its voice, so I’m not sure it’s ready to be upstaged by two bigger names. On the other hand the numbers haven’t been too flash yet, so I guess they are trying to attract some attention.

“I watched the first episode of the show, and everyone was sitting down, so I said I’d come on it. As long as you give me a chair, I’m happy,” said Matt Lucas.

Rove McManus added: “”Everyone knows how much I enjoy working on live television, so the idea of being part of This Week Live was a bit of a no-brainer. When you add to the mix the fact that I’m getting to muck around with friends and write it off as work only confirms how much fun it will be.”

Wednesday at 9.30pm on TEN.

  1. Rove is here cos tasma has a role on home and away. But his career has not failed in us as still doing rove la. Plus the project and before the game are his shows. Might actually watch this week.

  2. So Rove tried his hand in the US market, failed, signed with foxtel, did two seasons they said see ya later, now he is coming back to ten to try and save his career. should be interesting. but Rove is like the bible. irrelevant. Rove and Rove Live or so 2010.

    1. Umm no. Foxtel has not said see you later, they are discussing 2014. Rove is doing a guest appearance not some sort of career rescue. Neither was his episode of Who Do You Think You Are? pitched as a career rescue. In fact as a producer, Rove still has 2 long-running shows on TEN every week. But obviously he will always be the target of tall poppy syndrome.

  3. Agree David. Think it’s a little premature to be mucking around with the format. Will the 4 “regular” hosts still be on screen or are 2 of them being replaced for this ep?
