  1. People are quick enough to rubbish shows on TV before they even start, don’t know this person, don’t know that person, terrible casting etc. etc. if they are not interested in that programme don’t watch it. Simple.

  2. So a contestant on MKR is now considered a ‘star’?

This casting insults the true ‘stars’ like Tina Arena, and Olympic gold medalists Steve Hooker and Libby Trickett.

And of coursse there are the obligatory Seven personalities to promote their rotten shows.

Tina Tina Tina – what has possessed you to do this show? You are a genuine ‘star’ who doesn’t need to do this stupid show.

  3. even channel 7 didnt know who brendan jones is – today tonight had him as steve ‘jonesy’ jones there are quite a few unknowns in this cast they must be running out of well known celebs

  4. I think someone should keep track of those people who said they wouldn’t be watching this show. And, once the show starts, let’s see if the same people would come back and provide their critique.

  5. It isnt that bad of a line up, a couple of olympic gold medalists, obviously tina arena who is a star, Sally I reckon is doing it because all that she has been through she probably thinks it will be great fun and tony barber will be funny.

Brendan Jones always seemed to be on ch9 but he has been around on radio a long time.

There is always one person who I thnk why. Sophia, my god she isnt a star. However it will be interesting to see how she goes with todd and this time it will be her getting criticised.

Cosetino could be interesting. He could combine some of his magic stuff with dancing. His routines could actually be interesting.

Apart from Sophia I dont mind the line up

  6. Funny how Seven conveniently ignore that Tony Barber hosted Great Temptation.. aka Sale Of The Century.. on Nine for a decade.

According to them, after Great Temptation in the 70s, he didn’t do anything else..

  7. Kelly Osbourne would be strange choice for a co-host – she clearly did not care what she was doing or know why she was there when she was judging X Factor.
I don’t know why KAK isn’t the obvious choice – she is more familiar to Australian audiences than any of the other choices and would know some of these ‘stars’ much better too.
I don’t know why they’re trying to get a younger co-host – are they trying to attract a younger audience? I didn’t think anyone under 50 watched this show?

  8. Every year, there are people on this blog complaining about the ‘same old same old’ ie lack of ‘celebrities’ on this show. It is getting so repetitive. Not everyone is going to be happy. Australia is a small market and there aren’t enough celebrities compared to the States.

  9. A reality show contestant who’s popularity is only based on the viewers of MKR does not make one a celebrity. I for one have never seen or heard of her before. This is really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

  10. Channel Seven are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Although Cosentino, Rhiannon Fish and Sally Obermeder are stars in one way or another (and have been on Seven shows) Seven should say what defines a ‘star’ because putting in an ex MKR alum, she is not a star.

And who are the Stenmark twins and Brendan Jones? I have never heard of them. Alas I have heard of a few of them because they have been around for ages (eg Tina Arena).

Apparently along with Kym Johnson, Andy Garcia is looking likely to be a judge. Will be interesting.

  11. Sophia Pou. Wow there is a star….hmmm.
Libby Trickett must be looking to join Seven as this is what they wanted to do with Grant Hackett but he turned them down for Nine.
Brendan Jones. How do they think a Sydney radio personality will be popular with viewers in other cities?
Apart from Tina not much of a cast.

  12. I knew they’d struggle to get ‘stars’ this season but this is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Tony Barber hasnt been on commercial TV for over 10 years, and I’ve never heard of those twins?

  13. I will give it a go. As I quite like Tina Arena, although was quite disappointed by the reboot of Young Talent Time. I thought Dan’s co-host was announced as Kelly Osbourne. Why is Sophia Pou listed twice?

  14. Worst lineup ever! There is no one in that list that would prompt me to watch.

Getting ex MKR and AGT cast members, and a set of twins purely for their looks seems especially desperate.a
