Seinfeld-With TV1 being shown the exit door by Foxtel it is about to air its last-ever marathon of one of its favourites, Seinfeld.

TV1 has been the home of Seinfeld since 1998 and is the only channel where viewers watch all 180 half-hour episodes of the award-winning series back-to-back.

The Last Laugh – The Final Seinfeld Marathon will start on TV1 on Friday October 4 at 7.30pm and will run until Monday October 7 at 9.30pm.

Peter Hudson, CEO of TV1, says “There is no better way to celebrate “Always Great” television and thank our loyal fans by inviting them to join us for a final Seinfeld marathon.”

“The weekend will be a chance to share some great memories with our favourite TV characters that have defined a generation and sit back for one more laugh-fest”.

Viewers will enjoy successive scenes of crazy situations and classic dialogue, now ingrained in popular culture; everything from Jerry’s Puffy Shirt to the infamous Soup Nazi and yada, yada, yada.

Winner of 10 Emmy Awards, Seinfeld has grown in popularity over its 15-year run on TV1 – it is regularly in the top 10 programs of any night on STV and #1 on TV1.

TV1 has delivered the very best in contemporary and popular programs on Foxtel for the past 18 years, offering viewers the perfect combination of laugh-out-loud comedies and quality drama.

  1. That is great, even though I have the dvd’s I still regularly catch Seinfeld on TV1 as I know at 8.30pm I can rely on a good laugh. I have missed the marathons TV1 used to do regularly , the first one I watched was a Brady Bunch marathon. Recently there has been NCIS ones.

There is also a mini Frasier marathon hosted by Kelsey Grammer with his top 10 eps this Sunday.

  2. A sad note in Australian pay-tv history. So I take it TV1 weren’t able to find alternative delivery sources (I believe they were looking at Apple TV and Crackle)? I’ll be interested to see what channel replaces TV1 and how it compares in terms of ratings and shows (and same for SF).
