Rotten Tomatoes adding TV reviews

Aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes is about to add TV reviews to its hit / miss rankings.

2013-09-18_0119Renowned movie review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes is about to add TV reviews to its hit / miss rankings.

Owned by Warner Bros and branded through Flixster, it is launching a TV Zone  offering reviews of full seasons of primetime scripted TV series.

To be “Certified Fresh” a TV series must have 60% positive reviews.

“We’re doing reviews at the season level the way most critics do”, editor-in-chief Matt Atchity told Deadline.

“We’re still discussing how to handle [individual show] recaps and how that will impact the Tomatometers”.

At this stage it will focus on scripted content rather than Reality TV — “we don’t want to bite off more than we can chew”, Atchity says.

CBS Interactive site Metacritic has included television reviews for sometime, currently ranking Breaking Bad at 99 out of 100.
