A League of Their Own: Oct 21

Guests: Jeff Fenech, Christian Sprenger, Joel Creasey and Celia Pacquola.

leagueNext week on A League of Their Own, Tommy Little, Pat Cash and Eamon Sullivan are joined by Jeff Fenech,  swimming champion Christian Sprenger and comedians Joel Creasey and Celia Pacquola.

The teams throw themselves into a variety of weird and wonderful challenges that are derived from quizzes and out-of-their-seat games and they also reveal a few stories from their sporting past.

· Tennis ace Pat Cash reveals that while practicing for the Davis Cup final in 1983, he kicked his racket so hard in a training session that he injured his toe. It was bruised so badly that he couldn’t play tennis. The solution? He had to cut a hole into the end of his shoe in order to compete. He still won.

· Jeff Fenech reveals the secret method he used to help heal a broken sternum: a towel soaked in his baby son’s urine, applied to the area every day.

· Also on the show, the teams compete in including a mini-motor relay race and champion figure skater Chantelle Kerry tests their stamina and artistic prowess.

· Another Battle Of The Codes challenge sees brave players from the NRL and AFL women’s leagues compete in a national anthem singing contest. Will Jess Palmer and Courtney Gum prove to be as good at hitting the high notes as they are footy balls?

7:30pm Monday on TEN.

  1. Joel’s just a bit hit and miss (tends to happen with gay comics IMHO). First ep of this he appeared in he was very average, last week I thought he was the standout – pretty funny.
