CSI returning October 2nd …no 9th …no 16th, errrr…

There are times in television when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

2013-10-02_1606There are times in television when the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing.

This week Nine’s weekly Insights newsletter, which goes largely to advertisers, had two mentions of the returning date for CSI.

One part of the newsletter had it listed for October 2nd (it was originally due to screen tonight before Nine back-pedalled on the Hostages premiere).

Another part of the newsletter had it listed for October 9th.

So TV Tonight decided to check which was right.

The answer? October 16th following Hostages.

Sometimes you just can’t make insights like that up….

  1. Channel 9 will run Hostages, at least for a while. Even it is ratings drop and it gets bumped, it will rate something for first few episodes and there isn’t any point saving it.

Still no sign of TBBT though.

  2. I liked the first Hostage ep but not sure how it will go over a season, not that it looks to be a problem given the US ratings.

Look for CSI to fill the space if it’s canceled.

  3. With Seven dominating Nine decided to wait. Then they decided that the NRL Grand Final and some shuffling will not be too bad next week and hoping that once viewers have seen a few episodes of Seven’s new shows they can be tempted away by Nine’s.

Hostages is in the ICU waiting until CBS decide the best time to pull the plug.

  4. Hostages is 2 episodes down in the US and really struggling, there is a good chance it will be axed by the 16th when 9 premiere it.

slightly off topic, but Jerry Bruckheimer has really lost his touch. in the early naughties he pretty much had a big hit every season, then since 2004 he has made a show for broadcast every year and not one has made a 2nd season. Hostages is his 9th consecutive flop.
