STW9 exec appointments

Ed Hobbs is appointed as Director of Production and Creative Services and Wendy McKillop as Head of Public Relations and Communications.

2013-10-03_0052Nine took control of STW9 on Tuesday under new managing director David Mott, who appointed Ed Hobbs as Director of Production and Creative Services and Wendy McKillop as Head of Public Relations and Communications.

“I am really excited that Ed and Wendy have joined the Nine Network at the start of a very dynamic period for Channel Nine Perth,” David Mott said. “They are terrific assets for Nine and will contribute significantly to the station’s success. Both are from Perth originally and have a tremendous understanding of the local market.”

Ed Hobbs is an award-winning producer (Promax ANZ – Best Entertainment Promo) and WAAPA [Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts] graduate who has worked with the Nine Network in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. His credits include The TV Week Logie Awards, Wipeout Australia, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Domestic Blitz: The Block To The Rescue and London 2012 Olympic Games.

“I’m thrilled to be returning home to Perth and the network which has given me some amazing opportunities over the last decade,” Hobbs said. “The chance to work under David Mott, as he charts a new and exciting course for Channel Nine in the west, is one that I could simply not resist.”

Wendy McKillop has extensive experience in communications, public relations, publicity and marketing. She has worked with the Seven Network in Perth and Brisbane, Network Ten, Foxtel WA and Time Inc. Magazines. Her expertise covers a wide range of sectors including television, publishing, media, arts, entertainment, consumer, trade, C-suite communications, issues and crisis management.

“I’m delighted to be joining the Nine Network,” McKillop said. “It’s fantastic to be part of David Mott’s executive team and take on this exciting role at Nine Perth.”
