Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country ordered

Morena Baccarin to star as a straight-shooting sheriff who investigates criminal activity in a small US town.

Fire Country is getting a spinoff, Sheriff Country, led by Morena Baccarin (V, Homeland, Firefly, Deadpool).

According to Deadline, Baccarin (who featured in a recent Fire Country episode, pictured) stars as straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country), who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.

Fire Country ranks as the most watched new broadcast series last season, averaging 8 million viewers per episode for CBS.

In Australia the series should be part of Paramount’s content when it debuts in 2025.

  1. American’s do like formulaic TV, and CBS obviously couldn’t ignore the long term potential of their ‘Country’ franchise, with perhaps the possibility to include cross over stories for those who get invested in this type of TV entertainment. I don’t know if ‘EMS Country’ sounds right though as a third part for this franchise.
