  1. Alone and Rogue Heros are doing well for SBS, but the ratings indicate most of their viewers are not watching SBS on Wednesday nights. I will be watching Rogue Heroes tonight.

  2. Remarkable catch results for Alone Australia. SBS’ biggest Australian hit in years!

Aunty Donna’s Cafe is a dud.

Travel Guides will obliterate 1% Club next week. Full credit to Nine for nurturing and building this little show into a big hit over several years.

Yes, but I’m darned if I can see how this show fits with SBS’ charter.

      1. It has quite a bit of cultural diversity so that’s a fit, quite a few characters speak to aspects of their heritage etc. Otherwise SBS argues it is distinctive storytelling and hard to argue against that.

      2. The first part of the charter pretty much says their job is to entertain all Australians (among other things) and in doing so, reflect Australia’s multicultural society so they can do shows like Alone Australia IMO. Non issue. But I do think we need one public broadcaster instead of two and would support merger of ABC and SBS. For a country our size it is ridiculous to have two of them and the money saved on reducing backoffice roles could be better spent on content.
