US zombie drama series The Walking Dead has its free to air premiere on SBS 2 later this month, and as I vaguely recall, the first episode was a knockout (reviewed here).
Slow tracked from the US, The Walking Dead will screen from series one and follows the story of Sherriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Sherriff Rick Grimes, who wakes to find himself alone in an abandoned hospital after he was shot on duty. He soon discovers that an epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe causing the dead to rise and feed on the living.
Episode One: Days Gone Bye
After emerging from a coma in an abandoned hospital into a world ravaged by a zombie epidemic, Rick discovers that his wife and son are missing, and sets off to find his family. Morgan and Duane, whom he meets along the way, help to teach Rick the new rules for survival in this terrifying new world.
Tuesday, 19 November at 9.30pm on SBS 2.

I’ll admit I too loved the “slow tracked” slogan. Particularly in light of it being a show about zombies. So good one! Heh.
Makes me wonder what other old shows SBS could buy down the road.
Kudos to SBS 2 for running this, I have been enjoying some of their other stuff like Parks & Recreation a lot as well…..
Finally! My patience has been rewarded.
Agree with Roaringdave, nice to see SBS being topical and slightly self-deprecating in their promos. I must be the other person who watches a bit of SBS2 – saw Lost Girl and the repeat of S1E2 of Black Mirror last night.
I was thinking that I’d probably watch it again from the start, but then realised it’s on SBS, and they have ad breaks within programs.
So no thanks, I’ll pull out the disks if I want nostalgia!
But I highly recommend this show for those who like this genre, and have strong stomachs!
Love that SBS are using the term ‘slow-tracked”. Awesome. SBS2 screen some of my favourite content out of all FTA channels.
