BBC to broadcast Doctor Who After Party

The BBC will screen a Doctor Who After Party immediately following the 50th Anniversary adventure The Day Of The Doctor.

2013-11-16_0147The BBC will screen a Doctor Who After Party live from London’s Southbank, Zoe Ball and Rick Edwards, joined by Matt Smith and guests immediately following the 50th Anniversary adventure The Day Of The Doctor.

UK viewers can join the current Doctor himself, as well as a host of previous Doctors and their time-travelling companions in the ultimate celebration of 50 years of Doctor Who.

As well as all the gossip on the The Day Of The Doctor, there will be exclusive interviews, show-stopping monster moments and fans around the world will be giving their reaction, as they showcase how they are celebrating the special anniversary.

One Direction will also be joining the party live from LA to wish the Doctor a happy birthday -an odd choice, really, given I wouldn’t have thought the Doctor Who audience would be the same crowd.

Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three, says: “The 50th anniversary is going to be a huge party for Doctor Who and we’re delighted that BBC Three will be able to give the fans all the backstage access to the stars at the hottest ticket in town.”

No word if this is airing in Australia yet.

  1. I’m guessing ABC won’t show the classic series of Doctor Who for the 50th. I’m watching the ones they’ve put on iView, but I’d really like to watch the whole show again.
You’d think now with 3 channels to fill (not counting 24) they’d be able to find a place for it.
