TEN winter party 009TEN’s Director of Development Lisa Fitzpatrick has left the network, some 17 months after joining.

A network spokesperson told TV Tonight, “Lisa Fitzpatrick has left Network TEN. Her departure was amicable. We thank Lisa for her contribution to TEN and wish her well for the future.”

Fitzpatrick (pictured, right), who is understood to have departed two weeks ago, was appointed as  Development and Production Director by former CEO James Warburton. She headed up the ambitious Creative Development Unit to create local content.

A number of others appointed to the CDU began departing a year ago, and while the CDU no longer exists some members still remain within TEN.

Fitzpatrick’s title became Director of Development as recently as September.

TEN is understood to be appointing a similar role soon.

  1. You can’t run a network without a head of development unless the various genre heads just take over the role and with the programmer and CEO have an agreed strategy. This is an alternative. But frankly Ten needs many lateral ideas and a very open door if it is going to succeed with high rating local content. A quality, new appointment could reap rewards if supported.

  2. Another one leaves a sinking ship. Not a surpise at all. Good on her hopefully she will get a better role with a media organisation which knows what they are doing.

  3. Ummm – what exactly did she do?

I didn’t see much ‘development’ going on at Ten for a couple of years now.

Do they really need to find a replacement for a role that did nothing?
