Last chance to vote in 2014 ASTRA Awards

Voting on viewer-favourite categories is closing on Monday.

ASTRAs 031Voting in the 12th ASTRA Awards closes on Monday March 3.

There are five categories open for subscriber voting for the event being held on March 20, hosted by Shaynna Blaze and Matt Shirvington:

• Favourite Personality – Male
• Favourite Personality – Female
• Favourite Program – Australian
• Favourite Program – International
• Favourite Program – International Drama

Viewers can vote at

“Social media engagement is a significant driver of voting this year,” said ASTRA CEO Andrew Maiden.

“We know viewers love their shows and have their favourite personalities, so it’s the last chance for them to tell us who they want to win the 2014 ASTRA Awards in these categories,” he said.

Viewers who vote will be in the running to win two tickets to attend. Voting closes at 5pm (time AEDT) on Monday March 3.

  1. Foxtel is making a big deal about shows getting nominated and the whole viewer thing. But its all fake. Foxtel picks the nominees ensures that they are all from Foxtel channels and are shows and celebrities they want to promote.

    They put Wentworth up against an obscure news show, Abalone Wars and other lifestyle junk. The Crazy Ones is up against Top Gear and bunch of lifestyle repeats like Grand Designs UK.

    As for the celebrities I don’t know a single one of them yet you have donkey vote for them to vote for the drama category.

    And interestingly you have to accept a couple of pages of terms and conditions which include accepting the prize. What sort of prize you have to trick people into entering an agreement to force them to accept it?

    1. For some years I have noted that the Favourites should be short listed by audience not jury. But it’s not correct to say they are all from Foxtel owned channels. Will be interesting to see where results go btw Emmy winner Top of the Lake and the ongoing interests of Wentworth too.
