Former Before the Game funny man Mick Molloy has signed with Seven’s AFL squad.
He will join Luke Darcy, Brian Taylor, Matthew Richardson, Cameron Ling and Sam Lane for the hour-long preview show on Saturday Night Footy.
Molloy was part of TEN’s Before the Game which was axed late last year.
“It’s the biggest move for Seven since Celebrity Splash. And I couldn’t be happier to be at Seven, the only network that hasn’t sacked me yet,” said Molloy.
Managing director of Seven Melbourne, Lewis Martin, said: “Rumours of a nine-year deal testing our salary cap are wide of the mark. But we can confirm that Mick brings an entertaining voice from the outer which footy fans will love.”
Saturday Night Footy returns at 6.30pm AEDT on Saturday March 15, Live on Seven and 7mate.

Channel 7’s Saturday Night Footy Preview is Boring!!! I think if 7 took BTG it would be much better.
I also would have liked Seven to get Before the Game in its entirely, but nonetheless, good to see Molloy go to Seven for this show.
Sam Lane was poorly treated on the Sat night coverage. She probably regrets the move although the allure of being a footy newshound probably attracted her. She’s probably view it as a backward step if a quasi version of BTG became her home.
@ andrewg76, I agree, I would prefer if 7 brought over the BTG team also, they worked very well together. I find Richo and BT to be terrible commentators, so I’m not sure if this will work for me. Good to see Sam back on a panel show and Luke and Cameron have good footy brains, so happy about them being on the show also.
I would’ve preferred if 7 got BTG in it’s entirety. They have Sam Lane and Micky, just need Lehmo to come across and maybe Hughesy. I preferred watching BTG last year of 7’s pre-game show
Mick seems like a nice guy on tv congrats to him good to see him back on tv
