2014-03-17_1209Australian chef and food writer, Bill Granger, premieres a new series Bill’s Kitchen: Notting Hill on LifeStyle FOOD next month, a ten-part series that sees him at his new restaurant in West London.

A self-taught cook, known for his stylish and fuss-free cuisine, Bill opened his first restaurant “Bills” in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst in 1993. 20-years later he has eight cookbooks and eight restaurants spanning; Sydney, Japan and most recently London, under his belt.

In 2011, Bill moved his family from Sydney to London’s Notting Hill to open a restaurant and to be a part of the vibrant food scene that is expanding in London. He loves to discover new ingredients and to explore new ways of cooking them, while always holding true to his belief that cooking should be about the best ingredients, simply prepared.

The series features recipes that follow Bill’s mantra – recipes that make life easier. In episode one, a simple weekend breakfast for the kids is transformed into a dish the whole family can enjoy when Bill makes buttermilk pancakes served with sweet local rhubarb, caramelised with orange, sugar and vanilla. A hearty chickpea, tomato and chorizo soup is perfect for a picnic and the most simple and easy chicken, olive and preserved lemon filo pies.

Bill’s Kitchen: Notting Hill will show you how, with just a few fresh ingredients and a little inspiration, you can make everyone’s life easier – and a whole lot tastier.

Monday, April 7 at 8.30pm on LifeStyle FOOD.
