Fans flock to The Block

Families and kids were out in force for The Block's first open inspection to the public.

2014-03-23_0216The first day of The Block‘s open inspection in Albert Park was jam-packed with fans, with more than 500 who had camped out until very early yesterday morning.

Families were out in force to see the twins Alisa and Lysandra, Brad and Dale, Kyal and Kara and Steve and Chantelle.

Once again there were hundreds of kids, reinforcing the show’s appeal across wide demographics. Why is it kids like The Block so much when they have no intent to renovate? Because kids like seeing adults behave stupidly.

No photos were permitted during the day-long inspection, for fear of upcoming reveals being share on social media.

”It was worse last year,” says Alisa told Fairfax. ”People were getting pushed over. This year’s much more mellow.”

Another open inspection takes place today.

The auction takes place on April 8 with the finale airing on April 9.
