Returning: The Marngrook Footy Show

NITV's Matngrook is back next week with special guests Adam Goodes and Ross Wilson.

2014-03-03_1153_001NITV’s Marngrook Footy Show is back from next week, with special guest Australian of the Year, Adam Goodes and singer Ross Wilson.

A lot has happened since Hawthorn defeated Fremantle to win the 2013 AFL premiership last September. Buddy is now a Swan, Daisy now a Blue, Eddie a Crow, Heath a Giant and Adam Goodes became the first Indigenous footballer to be recognised and awarded Australian of the Year.

In 17 he and the Hawks will fill the Buddy Franklin void up forward this season. Also joining the Marngrook panel is Blues favourite and Marngrook regular Andrew Walker who will give the inside scoop on the Blues preparation ahead of their round one clash against Port Adelaide.

Regular segments including Around The Grounds and Footy Yarns with Leila and Shelley will be back along with a brand new segment The Adventures of Natrat and Flash making its debut. This season former Essendon star Nathan Lovett-Murray and former Melbourne superstar Aaron Davey team up to present a series of revealing yet light-hearted stories on current AFL players.

Marngrook has a proud history of presenting great live music each week showcasing some of the best emerging local talent as well as celebrating music legends. The first episode see’s rock icon Ross Wilson take to the Marngrook stage performing a Mondo Rock classic.

Thursday March 13, 7.30pm on NITV.

  1. @newtaste According to an article in the Herald Sun last year, Marngrook was averaging 60k to 70k in three states, so it’s figures are closer to the SBS 2 Friday night soccer numbers than Thursday FC’s.

  2. Any sign of Barefoot Sports returning? NITV yanked it off air last year when they talked about Blake Ferguson and suggested that grog was a problem with Indigenous sportsmen.
