What’s worst for you, fat or sugar? It’s a question that’s been generating huge amounts of heat in the world’s media, from the outer reaches of the Internet to the front pages of the New York Times. So what’s the scientific truth? This documentary delves into this debate to get to the bottom of it with the help twin doctors Chris and Xand Van Tullekan. In the greatest traditions of investigative science they’re experimenting on their own bodies, with one on a low fat diet and one on a low sugar diet. This documentary looks at what do sugar and fat do to the human body and which of these twin evils is worse.

  1. I agree with everyone. This is shocking. i’m sick and tired of just starting to enjoy a show and then it suddenly gets taken off air or put to some ridiculous time spot. Nothing was even said to let us know what was happening I had to research why the show wasn’t on again this week. I suppose once again i have to resort to watching my fav shows on the internet.

  2. It didn’t stand a chance against the reality juggernauts and their tactical over-runs. I was enjoying it too and will probably source the remaining 2 episodes elsewhere – very disappointing SBS.

  3. Soooo mad and disappointed that this show was not even given a chance ,no wonder people turn to the net and ditch tv .
More and more stations are doing this .
Starting a show advertising it and canning it after an extremely short time .
Shows need to be given a chance ,story lines develop and word of mouth is also important especially with non commercial stations like sbs.
Patience….. give people a chance to watch it.
Or at least offer it in another time slot .
What a way to alienate watchers.
Really tv stations are their own worst enemy .
The more they do this the more viewers turn away to the net .
    Really enjoyed this show .

  4. I am so disappointed that New Worlds is not screening tonight. I had arranged my schedule to be able to see it. Who do they ask to rate the different series? Certainly I have never been consulted.

This is a very interesting part of the history of England and of America. Not being able to learn more about it is a loss for all of us.

  5. I’ll look elsewhere for the rest. Damn you, SBS.
You are not a commercial station fighting for ratings from the average bogan viewer, or are you?

  6. I didn’t enjoy this much. It has great actors in it (a slew from Skins), but the screenplay is not quite right and is lacking any real tension. I also confess to having a issue that a girl kidnapped, , threatened with rape would them passionately kiss her kidnapper. All a bit wrong.

  7. Ditto @Secret Squirrel, I was quite enjoying it too.

It was interesting to have a drama set in that historical period, usually the Yanks aren’t interested in anything before the glory of the American revolution (the world’s greatest revolution you know…) and the Poms don’t use that period much in dramas either, despite it being a rather significant time in their history.

  8. A bit of a shame, but I think SBS made a misstep by promoting it as a replacement for Vikings. The promos made it look a similar show, but it felt to me like quite a different prospect that probably attracted a different audience.

SBS and the ABC seem to be doing this a fair bit these days, certainly more than they ever used to. Could we be seeing the effects of the government’s efficiency inquiry and cuts?
